The Cueva de los Verdes is a spectacular network of underground grottos, formed thousands of years ago by a series of eruptions. Around 1m (1.5km) of this passageway winds past lava channels, a natural auditorium, salt deposits, solidified lava and rock strata. The caves also offer an invaluable insight into how the pre-Hispanic population lived, whose customs and way of life are explained by implements found inside.
