Colombian chain Decameron’s Amazonian outpost is less of a rustic jungle lodge than it is a small jungle resort. The leafy compound is right in the heart of Leticia, not far from the riverfront. It is anchored by a large pool area surrounded by lounge chairs and tropical plants. The modern rooms, decorated with indigenous art, feature high ceilings and wood floors, as well as a balcony with a hammock. Every night there is some sort of live performance, such as shamanic chanting or folkloric dances, which keep the caipirinhas flowing in the bar area. Rates include free walking tours of town; trips to a monkey island, to see pink river dolphins, and hikes in the jungle can also be arranged for an additional fee.
