This beachfront hotel is not in Limón proper. Instead, it’s about 5 miles south, just beyond the city’s tiny airport. I think the distance and beachfront setting more than compensate for any lack of easy access to Limón’s limited urban attractions. The two-story hotel features clean, spacious rooms with red terracotta tile floors, simple decor, and a strong air-conditioning unit. All feature either a balcony, patio or shared veranda. The oceanfront second floor suite is a worthy splurge with good views from its large private balcony. A mid-size pool is between the hotel and the beach, which is a large, long and almost always deserted stretch of dark sand running uninterrupted for miles in each direction.
