The discount option. Golden Tours is one of the big machines in town, offering every permutation of bus tour and day-trip excursion you can imagine. None are particularly special, but they get the job done, and they do it with a flesh-and-blood narrator at low-ish prices, which means crowds. Its main product is a system of routes granting 24-hr. access to a network of 44 stops, generally from 8am to 5pm, plus one free walking tour and one free river boat ride. It also offers a 3-hr. guided tour (£16 adults/£8 kids 5–15) that doesn’t allow you to get off and on. Its Blue Line covers most of the core city including South Kensington, and the Red Line forgoes South Ken for the Docklands area. Commensurate with the lower prices, buses are in poor repair.
