The Landmark London

An excellent traditional experience in a glorious redbrick building topped by a clock tower, opened for guests in 1899 as a railway terminus hotel. Many tourists favor it for its top-level afternoon tea, taken in its elegant and palm tree-studded Winter Garden atrium, but the Landmark is under-appreciated for its larger-than-average rooms (average size of 55 sq. m/ 592 sq. ft for a standard room) with expensive fittings, assiduously maintained condition, and attentive service. Out your door, you’ll find the tony residential district of Marylebone, full of bespoke boutiques and buzzy small restaurants, so you’ll need short Tube rides for the major sights. The Landmark is that rarity in upscale travel: a hidden bargain that gives discriminating guests everything they expect from a luxury hotel, but at rates that are a fraction of its competitors.
