The Welbeck Hotel
Recently renovated (2025) with modern-moderate eclectic design that doesn’t feel cheap, the Welbeck surprises by giving you a lot more than similar London hotels at the same price level. Think redone bathrooms with walk-in rain showers, robes and slippers, iron and hair dryer, coffee machine and tea kettle, cool hooded bedside lamps, and simple room service options, not to mention plenty of outlets for U.S. plugs, European plugs, and USB-C (not always so common, even at higher-priced hotels). Some north-facing rooms on high floors have terrific views over the rooftops, and the Elizabeth Line from Heathrow is a 3-minute walk from the front door, if that fits your plan. The lift is slightly overburdened by the number of guests, but that’s not a dealbreaker—the staff is casual and chill, which rubs off and makes everything feel casual and homey. You get a lot for your money here and I can see it becoming a firm favorite for many travelers.
