Favored by visiting indie bands, in its first life as the Camden Palace this 1,500-place, multileveled space saw performances by Charlie Chaplin. In the ’70s and ’80s, it became an epicenter for pop—The Eurythmics, Boy George, and Wham! played their earliest gigs here, and it’s where Madonna made her U.K. debut. The name Koko brings respect.

Note: In early 2020, a fire that was sparked during a renovation damaged Koko's roof. The renovation had originally been scheduled to end in Spring 2020. Check ahead to see if Koko has reopened.
