A fun way to reach the Parque de Atracciones, the Teleférico is also an attraction in its own right. It was built in 1969 to connect the fairgrounds of the Casa de Campo with the eastern edge of Parque del Oeste, not far from the Palacio Real. The Disneyland-style cable cars take passengers on an 11-minute ride high above the city with views of parks, buildings, the Río Manzanares, and the Palacio Real. Passengers jump in as the cars slow down, and children under 14 must ride with an adult. Weather junkies will be interested to know that the cable cars operate in rain and snow.
