Generator Madrid

Generator hostels are known for their hip design and buzzy social spaces, and the Madrid branch is no exception. There’s a cool, retro-style tapas bar on the ground floor, and in warm weather everyone congregates on the multi-colored roof terrace, complete with Jacuzzis and a bar serving cocktails and street food. The private rooms are a cut above what you’d find at a typical hostel, with cushioned headboards over king-size beds and solid tiled bathrooms. Budget-minded travelers can save money by staying in a shared dorm, with bunks starting at around 25€. Female-only dorms cost a couple of euros more. One drawback is that checkout is ridiculously early at 10am, though you can pay for a late checkout.
