Set in the gay district of Chueca, this hotel’s imaginary friend is Óscar (see Room Mate
Laura;), who describes himself as “cosmopolitan, night owl, modern, and very friendly.” The thumping beats of
the colored-glass lobby give way to spotless, spacious bedrooms, futuristically decked out in lime, orange, and turquoise
by designer Tomás Alía. The inside-outside roof terrace is one of Madrid’s most sought-out spots for cocktails, but it
gets crowded and the service can suffer. Go early to secure a spot. Soundproofing throughout is excellent—a good

thing, because Oscar is a party animal, and so are many of his guests. You’ll see them coming down for breakfast at
11:45am; luckily, the buffet is set until noon.
