This is the original in the group of José Luís restaurants, and it has had a shoeshine man in attendance since it opened in 1957. The founder believed that a gentleman should always have clean and shiny shoes, so they can stand at the bar near the door to get their brogues polished. The adjacent dining room is elegant, but many patrons favor the bar where you can perch on a stool and have a complete meal of soup, salad, fish, and dessert. The cervecería also has a great selection of pinchos, including a signature roll of egg and shrimp salad.
