The lounge under the stained-glass cupola at the Palace Hotel is one of the
most spectacular settings in Madrid. You could settle for coffee and cakes here, but if style is a priority and money not
an object, the Sunday brunch, accompanied by an operatic performance, is a special experience. The buffet-style brunch,
served from 1:30pm each Sunday, is beautifully presented: shellfish, charcuterie, salads, and hot meat and fish dishes,
including paella. Attentive waiters circulate to refill your coffee cup or wine glass. If there is a slight sense of being in

a high-end international hotel that doesn’t feel particularly Spanish, gaze up at the exquisite glass dome, listen to the
accomplished performers, and imagine you’re back in the Palace Hotel’s 1920s heyday. Reservations required.
