Málaga’s star chef José Carlos García pioneered fine dining when he opened his waterfront restaurant in 2011. It attracts gastronomes all up and down the Costa del Sol. There are two menus and two dining rooms, with the glass box of a kitchen in between. The a la carte menu features some of the chef’s greatest hits (like a sumptuous hand-cut steak tartare) from the former Café de Paris, as well as newer inventions like the white prawns served with frozen white almond-garlic gazpacho. There’s also a daily menu of five half portions. The front room is reserved for the tasting menu, a 10- to 14-course extravaganza of incredible bites like sea urchin roe with tapioca pearls or roast suckling pig in pineapple sauce.
