Sociedad de Pesca Marbella

If it comes out of the nearby ocean, it’s on the menu at this true fishermen’s restaurant along the Marbella beach promenade next to Playa de Venus. Pay attention to the posted menus, though, because fish out of season won’t show a price. With a big enough appetite (or many repeat visits), you could get an advanced degree in seafood. Along with the ubiquitous sardines grilled on a stick, you’ll find tuna steaks, razor clams, whole grilled corvina, and the always prized gilthead bream. The crustaceans hail from waters on the Atlantic side of the Pillars of Hercules. They include seasonal varieties of prawns and shrimp. Skip the paella, as it’s a mass pot made for the tourists, and stick to the grilled fish specialties.
