JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort
This sprawling resort, situated on three miles of magnificent white sand beach, keeps kids entertained with activities, from watersports and Everglades excursions to dive-in movies (families enjoy a movie while floating or lounging poolside). Parents can play, too, or simply sign-up children for the resort’s daily kids’ camp. There are 12 restaurants here, which is great, since there aren’t many on the island. Sunset celebrations on the beach are legendary, with fire dancers and music. There’s also an arcade, mini golf, and bowling bar, 10K Alley, featuring an impressive list of craft beer and barrel aged bourbons. Two 18-hole resort-private golf clubs are off the premises but the Marriott operates a free shuttle. On the premises is a 24,000-square-foot Balinese spa with private pool. Rooms are same-old, same-old Marriott coastal. But all have balconies or patios with indirect views of the Gulf. For a more upscale, adults only experience, there’s Paradise by Sirene, a resort within the resort perched high above the beach and featuring an adults-only pool.
