Hotels in Marsa Matruh

Traffic noise, exacerbated by convoys of young Egyptians exuberantly honking their horns into the wee hours of the morning, is a problem in Matruh. The Corniche is dotted by flashing, red, NO HORNS signs, but there was no enforcement of the ban at the time of writing. Hopefully, this will change, but it would be wise to check the sound level of any room on the Corniche before committing yourself to spending the night. There are quite a number of hotels in town, particularly along the Corniche and in the first couple of blocks back from the sea just to the east of Iskandreya Street.
