The 19th-century estate of an English wine importer in Marsala has been redone, but the premises retain a luxurious, old-world aura, so hushed and quiet you feel that even the statues might doze off and topple over. The most character-filled rooms are in the old house, but those in the new annex are fine, too. All are spacious and outfitted with traditional furnishings; many have sea views. In the surrounding gardens, stately trees are a backdrop for the swimming pool.
