Located on the second floor of the old Lahaina Courthouse, this museum presents the history, culture, and environment of Lahaina, from precontact Hawaii (which once called this town Lele) through the missionary, whaling, and plantation eras to the beginnings of modern tourism and the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Sanctuary. In addition to ever-changing exhibits, there are videos, live demonstrations by cultural artisans, “touch and feel” displays, and interactive exhibits.
