ARRIVE Hotel

This 62-room boutique hotel, located right in the middle of the South Main Arts District, is my favorite modern hotel downtown. Beds are wrapped in Egyptian cotton and the marble bathrooms offer Hudson Made bath amenities, but the best thing about the ARRIVE is the vibe. Staying there feels like visiting your hippest, most thoughtful buddy, in no small part because the staff is so friendly and attentive. (I may have taken a selfie with the gal working the front desk and my dog because we realized our dogs are both named “Levon” after The Band’s Levon Helm. Music is truly everywhere in Memphis.) Make time to enjoy the freshly baked pastries from the in-house bakery, Hustle & Dough, or to grab a craft cocktail from the intimate lobby bar, Bar Hustle. And make a trip to the basement to Longshot for the city's most competitive shuffleboard scene, along with house-made sausages, cold beers, and impeccable cocktails. The boutique hotel fills up fast on big weekends, so make reservations early. And while it will cost you $100  to bring your mutt along, know that they’ll be treated like royalty, with a plush dog bed during your stay and courtesy bags, organic treats, and a custom chew toy to take home.
