Lafayette’s Music Room

Nearly 40 years after going dark, the legendary Lafayette’s Music Room reopened in Overton Square. During the 1970s, Lafayette’s was a small but influential venue, helping launch the careers of Billy Joel, Big Star, KISS, and Barry Manilow. Today it offers live music 7 nights a week, from rock to jazz to blues. The large space offers ample seating on two levels, one of which overlooks the stage. They also serve Southern food including po’boys, shrimp and grits, pizzas, and a killer chocolate chess pie.
