Novel

When news broke in 2017 that the Booksellers at Laurelwood was closing, locals banded together to found a new independent bookstore in the space. Eddie Burton, who worked at previous iterations of the store for over 30 years, leads the team at this smaller but still impeccably curated space. With the rejuvenation has come a renewed focus on local authors, which includes a dedicated event space at the rear of the store for weekly book talks, signings, and community events. The cafe, Libro, serves up European-inspired bistro food and is helmed by local restaurateur Sabine Bachmann, owner of Overton Park’s Ecco. The restaurant also features an all-day menu, which means you can now live the dream: brunch and books.
