Carillon Miami Wellness Resort

Named for its original Art Deco namesake, the main draw here is a spa with up-to-the-moment treatments. These include cryotherapy and thermal hydrotherapy (the Ice Igloo room, especially in the middle of August, is genius) to touchless wellness, including vibrational and sound therapies. A cutting-edge 70,000-square-foot gym features fabulous ocean views, a two-story rock-climbing wall, and high-tech Techno-gym strength training and cardio equipment. In addition to 750 feet of beach, there are four pools with or without requisite water-therapy programs. There’s even an anti-aging and wellness “biostation” helmed by a doctor who will test you for all sorts of things you don’t really want to know about but should. Speaking of that, there’s also an on-site sex therapist.

Because the Carillon was once condos, every suite is a big one- and two-bedroom affair, starting at 720 square feet. They boast fine furnishings, top electronics, floor-to-ceiling-windows, and high-end kitchen with KitchenAid and Miele appliances. Some have balconies. The hotel’s 18-seat fine dining Tambourine Room won a Michelin star thanks to the French with Asian-influenced cuisine of chef Tristan Brandt. Healthy Mediterranean fare is available at the oceanfront Strand restaurant, and kale smoothies are never far away at the Corner Store café.

Note: To preserve the tranquil vibe here, cellphone use is prohibited in many of the hotel’s public areas. There’s a $250 per pet fee.
