Hotel AKA Brickell

Formerly the fancy Conrad, Hotel AKA Brickell has an urban sophistication that fits right into the neighborhood. The rebrand from Conrad into AKA saw a stuffy space transform into a haute, yet homey one, with a bright and welcoming ground floor lobby (light oak wood paneled walls and satin bronze mirrors) replacing the Conrad’s, which was all the way up on the 25th floor. That lofty space is now a gorgeous lounge with skyline views and lots of greenery. Because it’s Brickell, because it’s Miami, a Michelin-starred chef, David Myers, serves up high end Mediterranean food here. Rooms are comfortable, soothing and understated in earth tones. Rooftop pool comes with Sky Bar + Grill and, unlike some area pools, a more serene, subdued scene. The Leaf Spa by K’ALMA offers some funky treatments including a sacred ceremony slash facial. The well-equipped gym features high-tech Technogym machines and  free yoga sessions Saturday and Sundays at 9am.
