The Balfour Hotel
Designed in 1940 by Art Deco OG architect Anton Skislewicz, The Balfour is a charming, historic property, with 82 guest rooms and suites spread out over two buildings connected by a pretty courtyard located on a quieter stretch of bustling Ocean Drive. Rooms are comfortable, clean and have excellent lighting, pillowtop mattresses, Frette linens and rainfall showers. For families traveling with kids ask for a room with bunk beds. An elevated plunge pool with an underwater window provides an ideal Instagram shot of swimmers behind a glass wall, and a Latin-flavored restaurant and lobby bar with excellent Monday through Thursday happy hour (4pm to 7pm) make for a relaxing respite from the surrounding sizzle. Bikes are free on a first come, first served basis. Pets are welcome for a $150 fee.
