One of Miami's best pizza joints is a tire shop. Well, was. This stretch of Biscayne Boulevard is known for its MiMo (Miami Modern, from the 1950s and early [‘]60s) architecture, and visionary Mark Soyka (also owner of South Beach’s News Café) pioneered local gentrification by creating the stylish nearby restaurant Soyka and, in 2001, taking a 1954 tire dealership and transmogrifying it into an equally stylish indoor-outdoor (mostly outdoor) pizzeria. A large variety of pies ranges from basic mozzarella and basil to the fully loaded “Godfather,” including Italian sausage, pepperoni, meatballs, onions, peppers, mushrooms, and olives. Nice service, fun atmosphere (including projection screens showing movies, videos, and sundry sports and other events), kick-butt pies, and tasty panini/salads—so yeah, andiamo (let’s go)!
