This brick-walled, dimly lit den of deliciousness attracts everyone from creatively mustachioed artists to tech titans to food fanatics. It’s warm, it’s inviting and it’s definitely at home in Wynwood, especially on Fridays for the Nigiri Happy Hour (4:30-7:30), when three kinds of habit-forming crispy rice—pork belly, Hamachi, and portobello—are just $3 and a highball is just $5. AND on Wednesdays when an all-day happy hour (4:30–11pm, food til 7pm) packs crowds in for $6 cheddar onion puffs with BBQ spice, $7 fermented black bean lo-mein, and $8 Rosie Sours—vodka, aperol, rosemary, watermelon and foam. Yep, foam. This is one of those places, but it’s not that pretentious, really. It’s fun. The full dinner menu features an excellent tagliatelle a la pesto with Calabrian chili, as well as an awesome pork rib pumpkin gnocchi with Manchego and gremolata. Saturday and Sunday brunch from 11am to 4pm offers a 2-hour free-flowing cocktail add on to a menu of mouthwatering dishes like the cheddar chive waffle with honey butter (get some of their thick-cut, coffee-glazed bacon and thank me later).
