El Palacio de los Jugos
Although the original is on West Flagler Street, this Little Havana outpost of the Cuban culinary landmark is just as good, if not better, serving fresh squeezed juices (guava, papaya, sugar cane, mango), tropical shakes, and some of the most authentic Cuban fare this side of Havana at prices that go back to the days when Havana was a bustling hot spot. Here, you’ll find everything from oxtail to roasted chicken, pork ribs, and roast pork, and pretty much anything comes dished from a steam table with a heaping helping of either arroz con pollo or red beans and rice. You also get a generous hunk of boiled yucca with its traditional accompaniment of garlic and citrus mojo sauce. They also serve a fantastically cheap breakfast. It’s loud, it’s frenzied, it’s almost 100% in Spanish, and it’s one of the most delicious Miami experiences you will have for under $20.
