The Surf Club Restaurant
Thomas Keller is the OG of destination dining. His Napa Valley Restaurant, the French Laundry—named “Best Restaurant on the Planet” umpteen times, by umpteen different publications—draws visitors from around the world, people who travel all the way to Northern California just to taste his food. Keller is the reason anyone comes to the Surf Club….even if he’s never here personally. But his expert staff maintains his high, high standards and cook such signature dishes as Maine Lobster Thermidor with aplomb. By the way, that lobster is pure poetry: poached tail in a puff pastry shell with morels, floating on a Gruyere sauce. It’s also $90, but worth every penny. The Dover sole meuniere serves two and isn’t like anything you’ll find in Miami, especially because it was caught off the coast of Brittany and just jetted in like Taylor Swift to a Chiefs game. The room is sexy, there’s live jazz in the lounge and a Michelin star or fifty. Service is masterful. It’s truly an experience to eat here.
