It’s so very Miami for one of the city’s best restaurants to be located in a hostel. Ok, it’s the Freehand hostel so it’s a bit elevated, but still. The juxtaposition is almost as delicious as the food. There’s a tuna crudo that I could eat daily, but I would also need a daily infusion of their pikliz, a spicy Haitian coleslaw of sorts served with Griot, which is crispy pork shoulder. The Haitian influences here are exquisite, but don’t let it stop you from ordering the Kimchi fried rice and taking a side trip to South Korea. It’s so good. Shared dishes include a fabulous, fried yellowtail snapper with—wait for it—taco fixins’! The burger shouldn’t be overlooked, either, with black garlic aioli and bacon fries. The ambience here is funky, cozy Florida cottage. Service is stellar. Though it’s named after its address, we’d give it a 100.
