Hotels in Milford Sound

Unless you're a photographer after a sunrise or sunset shot, or want to be alone in Milford Sound at night, there’s little reason to overnight in Milford. There is virtually nothing here, apart from the dock where the boats depart. However, your only real accommodation option happens to be the very nice Milford Sound Lodge SH94, Milford Sound (tel. 03/249-8071), which offers a number of options, including chalets, cabins, and dorm beds as well as campsites (chalets from NZ$345; cabins NZ$99; dorm beds NZ$33). The lodge has the Pio Pio cafe and bar on-site. A number of DOC-administered campsites (first-in, first-serve) also exist along the Milford Road.
