Wolfville boasts more than its fair share of grand, Victorian-era inns (see below) plus Micro Boutique Living at 366 Main St. offering studio, 1- and 2-bedroom suites for rent from May through August. The rest of the year the efficiently designed units are used by students at nearby Acadia University. These are essentially kicked-up dorm rooms, but way nicer than any most of us experienced back in the day. These chic, minimalist—albeit petite—studio suites start at C$159 a night. All have full size fridges, microwaves and a cook-top, and most have balconies and propane fireplaces. The studio unit makes the most of the limited space with a Murphy bed. Some units overlook the Bay of Fundy and you can’t beat the location right in the heart of town. You can also rent similar units in Antigonish, another university town.

A selection of art and design books are left in every guestroom at the Evangeline, but you likely won’t need to consult them to determine just how stylish this 5-acre hospitality complex is.
