Hotels in Mokpo

There is no shortage of cheap places to sleep in Mokpo, and most of the inexpensive motels and yeogwan are located between the train station and the ferry terminal. There is also a grouping of yeogwan and love motels near the bus terminal.

The most highly regarded hotel in the city is the Shinan Beach Hotel (tel. 061/243-3399; http://shinanbeachhotel.com), which looks down over Yudal Beach. It has old-fashioned charm with Western-style or traditional ondol rooms starting at W99,500. It's W20,000 more for an ocean view. Suites start at a rack rate of W270,000.

An economical place is the third-class Baekje Tourist Hotel, 10-13, Sangnak-dong 1-ga (tel. 061/242-4411). Although its facilities are a bit dated, the staff is accommodating and the rooms are good for the price.
