Hotels in Mont-St-Michel

If you plan to stay overnight on the island, be prepared to pay a premium. It is, however, an unforgettable experience, as you can explore the island in the evening in peace after the crowds have left. But travel light: the hotels are a long, mostly uphill walk from where the shuttle bus drops you off, and the cobblestoned streets don’t make it easy to transport your luggage. And don’t expect to have a late supper; most restaurants close soon after the day-trippers leave, apart from hotel restaurants. But there are advantages to staying overnight—particularly in the summer, when evening concerts are staged in the abbey and sound-and-light shows illuminate the island.
