Restaurants in Montanita

Not surprisingly, Montañita is packed with small, simple restaurants serving the backpacker and surfer crowd. Most are pretty good, and all are inexpensive. The best and most creative restaurants in town are Funky Monkey, which serves up everything from steaks and pastas to sushi and seared tuna; and Ceasar's (tel. 09/3720-873), whose namesake chef cooks up an eclectic blend, with heavy Peruvian and Asian influences.
