If you missed Oktoberfest, you can still experience it vicariously. The Augustiner Brewery operates this cultural and culinary combination in a building dating back to 1327. The multi-story museum explains the beer-making process and the history of Oktoberfest throughout the centuries. Your ticket includes a voucher for a glass of beer and a traditional snack such as the Bavarian cheese Obatzda with Leberwurst (liver sausage) or Schmalz (chicken fat spread over freshly baked rye bread. After 6pm you can return to the restaurant for regional Bavarian fare such as beer-infused goulash and noodles, sausage salads and Schnitzels.
