Hotels in Myvatn and Krafla

All accommodations listed are around Mývatn, mostly in Reykjahlíð, the village on the northeast corner of the lake, and Skútustaðir, a small settlement on the south side. On short notice, the information office can tell you which accommodations have vacancies, but in July and early August, every single room could well be occupied. Two guesthouses west of Mývatn are good, relatively inexpensive backups: Guesthouse Stöng (tel. 464-4252; www.stong.is) and Narfastaðir Guesthouse (tel. 464-3102; www.farmhotel.is).
