Hotels in Namwon

The largest concentration of accommodations is at the Namwon Tourist Complex, which has hotels and lower-priced yeogwan and minbak (homestays), for the more price-conscious. There are also several yeogwan and motels near the bus terminal (many of them with attached bathhouses). They run about W30,000 to W35,000 for a standard room that sleeps one or two. Newer accommodations are located near the express bus terminal.

A conveniently located, slightly more upscale accommodation is the Namwon Gukmin (Kukmin) Hotel, 437 Shincheon-dong, Namwon-si (tel. 063/633-7515), with rooms starting at W50,000 per night. Cheaper options are the Greenpia Motel, 277-1, Yongdamil, Juchon-myeon, Namwon-si (tel. 063/636-7200), and the Chunhyanjang, 37-121, Oyon-dong, Namwon-si (tel. 063/626-0330), with rooms starting at W30,000 per night.

For a casual place to lay your head and a good home-cooked meal, try the Namwon Shikdang Minbak, 167-1 Bukcheon-li, Unbong-eup, Namwon-si (tel. 063/634-0044) in Unbong. The accommodations are basic, but they serve a great dish of roast pork.
