Bistro 821
This South Beach, Miami-style bistro is the longest running eatery in central Naples (since 1994) and is still a good date place: small ceiling spotlights romantically illuminate each table (although tables are a bit too close for racy conversations). The house specialty is the miso sake–marinated sea bass with roasted garlic carrot mashed potatoes, and you won’t go wrong ordering it, though we’re also fond of the coconut, ginger, and lemon grass encrusted snapper in spicy Thai chili peanut sauce. Dishes are huge, but you can order many of them in half portions. Another money saver: an early bird special (4-5pm) of two entrees and a bottle of wine for $52. Sunday brunches from 11am to 2pm feature fun music themes, such as disco, country, 80s, and 90s.
