Spanky’s Speakeasy
A family friendly lunch and dinner spot since 1984, Spanky’s—named after the Little Rascals character—is a laid-back locals’ fave, decorated with all sorts of antiques and featuring a waterfront patio. The salad bar is set up in the back of a 1924 Ford Model T. The menu features reasonably priced comfort fare, from baby back ribs, prime rib, and Philly cheese steaks to broiled seafood and frogs’ legs. There are also old school early bird specials daily from 4 to 5:30pm. Fun fact: years after opening in 1984, the restaurant was sued by none other than the Little Rascals’ star Spanky McFarland. The parties settled, the original Spanky allowed the restaurant to use his name, and they are still the only restaurant in the nation with those exclusive rights.
