This upscale music-themed B&B within walking distance of Music Row, Edgehill, and Hillsboro Village is a unique option in Nashville, and a great one for groups: You can rent just a room or the entire house through Airbnb or the Buffalo Soul website. Backed by local musician JT Hodges, the house exudes music down to the studs, from the basement recording studio with record-covered stairway walls to the stylish lounge with piano and musical instruments. (For weekend stays, Buffalo Soul even offers a musical experience with Nashville songwriters.) The plush rooms have a contemporary vibe, flat-screen TVs, modern en suite bathrooms, and keyless entry. Extras include complimentary parking, drinks, snacks, and beer, including two kegs of local brew. Guests also have access to a sound system wired throughout the house, a fireplace, a guitar-shaped patio with a splash pad and a game of horseshoes, as well as continental breakfast tucked into refrigerated drawers, and an icemaker. Even the (free, of course) M&Ms are branded Buffalo Soul, making this place feel equal parts old and new Nashville. It also has an unexpected and lovely view from the backyard of part of Belmont University’s campus, which is all lit up at night. Even with the cars passing on Wedgewood, it’s a nice respite.
