Four Seasons

When you’re one of the fanciest outfits on earth and you come to Nashville late, you have to get creative with a small footprint—and that’s exactly what they’ve done here. By using the lower floors for conference rooms, restaurants, and pool and spa space, they’ve insured that all guestrooms have expansive views of the Cumberland River or the city, and they’ve upped the drama by using floor-to-ceiling windows. The pool is situated so it feels scenic overlooking the river, which belies the fact that it’s sitting just stories above Broadway’s incessant debauchery. The spa is second to none, and the flagship restaurant, Mimo, shines—it’s literally filled with light as two of four walls are windows. It’s especially adept at cocktails (like the Bollicini A Pera, made with Casa Noble Reposado, Mathilde Pear, prosecco, peach shrub, and lemon—a tart, straight-up take on tequila). But most of all, the staff at the Four Seasons feels not only like they would bend over backward for you; they’re practically begging you to do it.

Obviously, not everyone can shell out this kind of cash for a weekend away, but if you’re doing something special—getting married, having a long-awaited bachelor(ette) trip, or celebrating something big—this is the place to splurge. And there are some money-saving extras here that you’d pay for elsewhere—pets stay free, for example, and are treated as royally as you are here—in addition to the money saved on transportation if you’re mainly going to be downtown, or in nearby East Nashville or The Gulch. Tip: Be sure to check the website when booking; sometimes the hotel runs specials like a third night free, but you need to be on their site to cash in.
