One of the best-kept secrets in Nashville, Scarritt-Bennett is highly recommended for single travelers on a budget and those looking for a cultural experience. It's within walking distance of Vanderbilt University, Hillsboro Village, Music Row, and the West End, with a wide assortment of restaurants and shopping nearby. Once a small college and now a retreat, this facility has clean, comfortable single rooms that are a great deal. True, these former dorm rooms are spartan, and you’ll sacrifice amenities such as a television and telephone, and you’ll share a bathroom with a neighbor, but in return you’ll enjoy the serene grounds and lovely Gothic architecture that makes you feel as if you’ve dropped onto a Harry Potter set. Check out the calendar of programs, and be sure not to miss the jazz vespers that take place each Sunday evening in the chapel. There's also free on-site parking.
