I’m going to be honest with you about this one: I hesitate to share it with you because, somehow, many locals still haven’t heard of this place despite the fact that it’s been open since 2014. Located inside the hall of fame, the 800-seat CMA Theater is small, and designed with a steep incline so that it has that you-could-hear-a-pin-drop quality that makes shows here feel like a secret you’re lucky to be in on. Often acts who play here will plan special acoustic pieces, such as when Old Crow Medicine Show turned out all the lights and stood on the edge of the stage in near darkness to do a rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.”
