Ivan’s, in the Catcha Falling Star cliffside resort, is all about the setting: candlelit tables under thatched roofs or scattered over patios that extend right to the edges of the rocks above the crashing waves.

As with any West End restaurant, you want to make an early dinner reservation so you can be here for the sunset (and be sure to reserve; Ivan’s is not open to walk-ins who are not staying at the hotel).

The welcome cocktails are stupendous. Food can be hit or miss but overall is pretty solid—especially if you stick more to the more classic Jamaican options on the menu such as the soups, curries, and fresh fish; the pastas are often ‘meh’ and overdone.
