Bar Goto
Named for owner Kenta Goto, formerly of the iconic Pegu Club (see p.###), this sophisticated drinkery puts a Japanese spin on its décor, cocktails, and snacks. That means liquors mixed with green tea powder, miso, a topping of marshmallow, or a shochu and sake, served in a woodsy, square room that wouldn’t be out of place in Kyoto. I have to admit, I considered putting this in the restaurant section, because the pub grub here may well be the tastiest in the city, particularly the cabbage pancakes (okonomiyaki).
