The scene can get a bit, well, snotty here. You see, this is the only bar in Manhattan—with the exception of the one that blooms in the summer on the roof of the Metropolitan Museum —that gets close-up Central Park views, meaning the Richie Riches that live in the neighborhood decamp here. On my last visit, no less than three patrons were trying the “do you know who I am” move with the hostess to attempt to get seated faster. Still, the décor is charmingly tropical, the drinks are expertly prepared (if pricey), and you can’t beat the sweeping vistas from this 46-story high perch. When you make a reservation on the app Resy (and you must do so), be sure to request an “exterior” table, so you get the views.
