A gritty, underground sake bar, Decibel has become a center of social life for many of the ex-pat Japanese living in New York City. In fact, most of the clientele are Japanese, the soundtrack is Japanese rock, and the bar food can be exotic (dried squid, anyone?). But all are welcome, and if you feel a bit out of place when you enter this Tokyo transplant, you’ll relax once you tuck into any of the 30-odd sakes on offer here each evening. A real experience.
