Programmed by artistic director Bill T. Jones, and home to the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, NYLA is hipper and smaller than the other dance venues in town. You’ll see top talent here, beyond the members of the resident company (who are terrific), with an emphasis on “flavor-of-the-moment” emerging stars, some of whom have staying power and some of whom will ultimately succumb to the unfortunate economics of modern dance (a field in which only a handful of artists are able to make a living).
