Ignore the views of the New York cityscape from the large plate-glass windows here and you could be in a beer hall off some gritty side street in Munich. The beers pack as much of a punch (be careful, unusual German beers such as Kolsch have a higher alcohol content than you may be used to), the bratwurst has that same snap, and if you stick around long enough—till, say, 2 or 3am—revelers here are likely to hop on top of the benches and boogie, just like they do across the pond. It’s a fun, loud place with dozens of beers, a rock and hip-hop soundtrack, and a party spirit.
