Campgrounds
North of Newport you'll find Beverly Beach State Park, which is known for its good surfing and has campsites and yurts. South of town, at the mouth of Yaquina Bay, is South Beach State Park (tel. 541/867-4715), one of the biggest state-park campgrounds on the coast (it also has yurts). However, I prefer Beverly Beach. To make reservations at either campground, contact ReserveAmerica (tel. 800/452-5687; www.reserveamerica.com).

Sylvia Beach Hotel
